Manual resets are wired in the power legs. Primary and secondary over temperature devices should not be bypassed in the field because of cycling or tripping out. These devices are put there for safety reasons. If a heater has a cycling problem the problem should be eliminated. First check installation of heater, air flow, air blockage, and insufficient air. If the problem still persists, call our engineering staff and they will try to resolve any problem you have in the field. TOLL FREE 14 MAGNETIC CONTACTORS Magnetic contactors are standard in al Heatrix Heaters. One, two and three pole contactors are available with control voltages ranging from 24 volts to 277 bolts. 24 volts is standard unless specified differently. All heaters are wired using de-energizing contacts, unless specified. Disconnecting caution must be taken when using de-energizing contactors, One end of each element remains electrically hot unless a safety disconnect serving the heater is off. Mercury CONTACTORS Mercury contactors are normally used when a control system requires frequent cycles or when quiet operation is essential. Mercury contactors are more durable and have longer life expectancy than magnetic contactors. Holding coil voltages range from 24 volts to 277 volts. Since mercury contactors are position sensitive, it is of the utmost importance that installation is done according to labels found in every Heatrix Heater. Installer must install heater in position of arrow on the heater. TOLL FREE 15 AIRFLOW SWITCH Airflow switches provide the best heater protection against element failure.
